Braves Head to North Newton on Wednesday For Match Vs. Threshers

OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa university women's soccer team heads to North Newton for a road matchup against the Bethel Threshers on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
  • The Braves have won four of their last six games since starting conference play. Ottawa has only lost one of their last eight games, but four of those resulted in ties.

  • Braves' goalkeeper Willow Good was named KCAC Defensive Player of the Week following two shutouts in the Braves' last two matches against York and Bethany. Good made five saves in a 4-0 win against York on Wednesday, and followed with two saves in a 0-0 draw against Bethany on Friday. The two shutouts bring Good's goals-against average down to 1.26 per game, which ranks fourth in the KCAC.

  • The Threshers had a tough matchup against No. 12 Oklahoma Wesleyan, finishing with 10-0 loss in their last outing. Bethel's offense is led by Claire Hedlund, who has 19 goals on the season (eight of her goals came in a 13-0 win over Ecclesia).

  • Ottawa owns the Threshers with a 15-1-1 series record. The Threshers only win over the Braves came back in 2011. Reigna Werner scored an overtime game-winner in last year's 2-1 win over Bethel.

Up Next: The Braves return to AdventHealth Field to host the Friends Falcons on Saturday at 1 p.m.
