#RV Braves and Sterling Meet in Wilson Field House on Wednesday

Ottawa is 18-9 overall, 6-0 in the KCAC, and is receiving votes in the NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches Top 25 Poll. OU is on an eight match winning streak and have swept its last seven opponents. Ottawa has not dropped a set in KCAC play.

The Braves enter Wednesday night's match coming off a 3-0; 25-8, 25-22, 25-18 victory over non-conference opponent, Benedictine College in Wilson Field House. Ottawa finished the match with 39 kills, a .293 attacking percentage, 36 assists, 10 service aces, 45 digs, and six team blocks.

In OU's eight match winning streak, the Braves have only dropped two sets. Ottawa has 365 kills, a .249 attacking percentage, 336 assists, 48 service aces, 470 digs, and 49 team blocks.

Kaitlyn Haller earned her fourth KCAC Setter of the Week honor for her efforts in OU's four victories last week. She finished her week with 74 assists, one service ace, 48 digs, six blocks, and 36 kills in OU's four victories. In OU's 6-2 offense, she averaged 18.5 assists per match and 6.1 assists per set. Haller also averaged three kills per set, nine kills per match, 10.5 digs per match, and 3.5 digs per set.

Through 27 matches, the Braves are averaging 12.3 kills per set, 11.4 assists per set, 2.04 blocks per set, 1.5 service aces per set, and 17.9 digs per set. OU has a .197 attacking percentage.

OU is ranked 20th in the NAIA in kills (1,184), 12th in total attacks (3,657), 26th in assists (1,096), 15th in digs (1,727), 31st in digs per set (17.9), 36th in solo blocks (61), 29th in block assists (269), 22nd in total blocks (196), 37th in blocks per set (2.04), 39th in blocking errors (40), and 46th in ball handling errors (26).

Radaisy Valdez leads the Braves in kills with 322. She is averaging 3.4 per set. Haylee O'Meara is OU's leader in assists (493) and she is averaging 5.3 assists per set. Jadore Hayes is the Braves' leader in service aces (31) and digs (451). She is averaging 4.7 digs per set. Elli Rogers and Valdez lead the Braves in blocks with 85. They have a 0.9 block per set average.

Wednesday's match is the 85th meeting between Ottawa University and Sterling College. Ottawa leads the series, 47-37 and is on a 19 match winning streak against the Warriors. The last time OU lost to Sterling was on Sept. 30, 2011 at the Gleason Center. Sterling won the match 3-0; 25-21, 25-16, 25-21. Ottawa has won eight straight matches in Wilson Field House against Sterling with its last loss to SC at home coming of Oct. 20, 2009, 3-0.

Sterling College is 9-12 overall and 2-5 in the KCAC. The Warriors are on a three match losing streak with losses to McPherson (3-0) on Oct. 1, Avila on Oct. 6, and Southwestern (3-0) on Oct. 11.

In the loss to Southwestern last Tuesday in Winfield, the Warriors had 36 kills, a .111 attacking percentage, 31 assists, one service ace, 54 digs, and five team blocks. Jordyn Jellison led Sterling with 18 kills and had a .371 attacking percentage. Aubrey Young had a double-double, finishing with 18 assists and 11 digs. Lindsey Kauffman had 12 digs. Gracie Bates led the team in blocks with four.

Through 21 matches, the Warriors are averaging 10.7 kills per set, 9.3 assists per set, 1.9 blocks per set, 1.3 service aces per set, and 16.08 digs per set. Sterling has a .153 attacking percentage.

Sterling is ranked 54th in the NAIA in blocks per set (1.9) and 22nd in ball handling errors (36).

Jordyn Jellison leads Sterling in kills with 241. She is averaging 3.1 kills per set. Paige Rowland is the team's leader in assists (312) and is averaging 4.05 assists per set. She also leads the Warriors in service aces with 26. Nyah Isom is the team's leader in digs with 298 and is averaging 3.8 per set. Emily Peterson leads SC in blocks with 53 and is averaging 0.6 per set.
