OTTAWA, Kan. – A goal from 
Carolina Jennerwein led the Ottawa University women's soccer team in a 1-0 win over the Avila Eagles on Sunday, the team's third win in their last four games.
Jennerwein struck in the 56
th minute, racing down a diagonal through ball from 
Denaya Evans and poking the ball by an approaching Eagles' keeper Kenan Ebel. Both teams had been playing with 10 on the field for about 20 minutes leading up to Jennerwein's goal, with each team receiving a red card in the opening half.
Ottawa didn't lay off after taking the lead, keeping the pressure on the Eagles and only allowing two shots on goal. Ottawa's goalkeeper 
Willow Good made two saves in the second half to total six saves in the shutout. The shutout dropped her goals allowed per game average to 1.57, which ranks fourth in the KCAC.
There was an equal share of chances in the first half, forcing four saves from the goalies on both teams. The match was very physical from the start, with an even 14 fouls called on each team. A red card was issued for both teams in the 35
th minute following a brief tangle between two players, that forced both sides to finish the match with ten players on the field.
