#25 Braves Travel to Bethany on Saturday

The Braves are on an 11 match winning streak after defeating York University 3-0; 25-16, 25-12, 25-11; on Tuesday night in Wilson Field House. Ottawa holds a one match lead in the KCAC standings over Oklahoma Wesleyan University with three matches remaining for the Braves in the regular season.

Ottawa is 21-9 overall and 9-0 in the KCAC. OU has moved into the NAIA Top 25 this past week and is ranked no. 25.

For the second straight match, Kaitlyn Haller had a triple double. She finished the win over York with 11 kills, 20 assists, and 11 digs.

During its 11 match winning streak, Ottawa has 509 kills, a .241 attacking percentage, 473 assists, 67 service aces, 668 digs, and 69.5 team blocks. The Braves are averaging 6.1 service aces per match and 1.8 service aces per set in those 11 matches.

Radaisy Valdez leads OU in kills with 359. She is averaging 3.4 kills per set and had a .326 attacking percentage. Haylee O'Meara leads OU in assists (554) and service aces (34). She is averaging 5.3 assists per set. Jadore Hayes is OU's leader in digs with 503. She is averaging 4.7 digs per set. Both Valdez and Elli Rogers lead the Braves in blocks with 93 apiece. They are averaging 0.8 blocks per set.

Through 30 matches, OU is averaging 12.4 kills per set, 11.5 assists per set, 2.02 blocks per set, 1.5 service aces per set, and 17.99 digs per set. The Braves had a .200 attacking percentage.

OU is ranked 19th in the NAIA in kills (1,328), 10th in total attacks (4,074), 21st in assists (1,233), 11th in digs (1,925), 30th in digs per set (17.99), 35th in solo blocks (67), 32nd in block assists (298), 22nd in total blocks (216), 45th in blocks per set (2.02), 41st in blocking errors (43), and 15th in points (1709.0).

Saturday's match is the 83rd meeting between Ottawa University and Bethany College. The Braves lead the series, 48-34, and are on a nine match winning streak against the Swedes. Ottawa has not lost to Bethany since Oct. 4, 2017 in Lindsborg. The Swedes won the match 3-2; 25-21, 16-25, 25-21, 22-25, 9-15. The first meeting between the two teams happened on Nov. 3, 1979. Ottawa won the match 2-1; 7-15, 15-9, 15-9.

OU has not dropped a set to Bethany in four straight matches and in six out of its last seven matches against the Swedes. The last time OU dropped a set to Bethany was on Oct. 5, 2019 in Lindsborg. Ottawa won the match 3-2.

Bethany College is 6-19 overall and 2-6 in the KCAC. The Swedes enter Saturday's contest coming off a 3-2 win over Avila at home in Lindsborg on Oct. 22. Prior to that victory, Bethany had dropped five straight matches.

In the win over Avila, Bethany finished the match with 64 kills, a .160 attacking percentage, 62 assists, 10 service aces, 115 digs, and four team blocks. Zola Moore led Bethany with 17 kills, McKenzie Scott had a double-double with 30 assists and 11 digs. Cameron Boyd led BC with 40 digs and Madison McGuire had three blocks.

Through 23 matches, Bethany is averaging 9.4 kills per set, 8.8 assists per set, 1.5 blocks per set, 1.5 service aces per set, and 16.3 digs per set. The Swedes have .109 attacking percentage.

The Swedes are ranked 25th in the NAIA in service errors (218) and first in ball handling errors.

Alyssa George leads Bethany in kills with 182 and is averaging 2.1 kills per set. Atlantis Jamerson is BC's leader in assists (206) and has a 2.34 assist per set average. George is Bethany's leader in service aces with 28. Cameron Boyd leads the team in digs with 413 and Justice Brackney is BC's leader in blocks with 68.
