OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa university women's soccer team returns to AdventHealth Field for the last of two straight home games, hosting the Bethany Swedes on Friday at 5 p.m.
The Braves have won four of their last five games since starting conference play. Ottawa has only lost one of their last eight games, but three of those resulted in ties.
Carolina Jennerwein has scored in back-to-back games,
scoring the Braves' lone goal in a 1-0 road win at Avila and in the a 4-0 win over York in the Braves' last game.
The win against York was the second game this season that the Braves had four different goal scorers. Jennerwein and
Denaya Evans are tied with
Jessenia Velez with team-high three goals on the season following goals from both players in the match against York. Braves' keeper
Willow Good has posted back-to-back shutouts to drop her goals allowed per game average to 1.47, which ranks fourth in the KCAC.
Ottawa has a 6-3 record in the series history, but have lost the last two games against the Swedes. Bethany won 3-1 last year at Ottawa with goals from Juliana Lopez and Lauren McLeod, two players who have graduated from the Bethany squad.
Meloine Baca and Melissa Estrada lead the Swedes' attack, both scoring two goals on the season.
