HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The (22) Ottawa University women's volleyball team moved on to the KCAC Tournament Semifinals with a 3-0; 25-11, 25-19, 25-12; victory over Southwestern College on Friday morning at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
How it Happened
- Ottawa raced out to the 7-2 lead over Southwestern to open set one. Kills by Haylee O'Meara, Kaitlyn Haller, and Katleyn Elstun pushed the Brave lead to 10-3. The timeout by the Moundbuilders did not slow down OU as they scored four more points, increasing its lead to 14-3 on an Elli Rogers kill. Ottawa held Southwestern in check for the remainder of the set, taking the 25-11 victory.
- In set two, Ottawa again took the early lead but this time Southwestern was able to stage a comeback. The Moundbuilders rallied, tying the set at 12-12. Ottawa retook the lead on an O'Meara kill and a Moundbuilder attacking error, 14-12. SWC stayed within striking distance and tied the set at 17-17. Ottawa responded by scoring the next four points, taking a 21-17 lead over Southwestern. The Moundbuilders never threatened the OU lead and the Braves took the 25-19 victory.
- Ottawa scored the first four points of set three and never looked back, taking the 25-12 victory in set three.

- The Braves finished the three set match with 53 kills, a .331 attacking percentage, 50 assists, three service aces, 76 digs, and two team blocks.
- Katelyn Elstun led OU with 14 kills. She had a .500 attacking percentage.
- Radaisy Valdez was right behind her with 13 kills. She had a .478 attacking percentage.
- Kaitlyn Haller recorded a double-double, finishing with 22 assists and 17 digs.
- Jadore Hayes had 26 digs.
