ATCHISON, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's lacrosse team falls to the Benedictine Ravens in the KCAC Semifinals on Thursday morning, 23-7.
Benedictine started the game by scoring three straight goals to take a 3-0 lead.
Quinn Crandall answered with a goal with 12:13 left in the first quarter to make the score 3-1. The Ravens scored two more goals to extend their lead to 5-1.
Cecily Anderson threw in a goal off an assist by Crandall to get OU within three of Benedictine, 5-2. Benedictine continued to score in the first by adding three more goals to put them up 8-2. Ottawa wouldn't shy away as
Mackenzie Simmons scored to make the score 8-3 with 3:43 remaining in the first. Benedictine and Ottawa would trade goals to end the first and OU was down 10-4 at the end of the first. Crandall started the second with a goal to only make Ottawa down five, 10-5. This would be as close as the Braves would get as Benedictine would score six straight goals between the second and third quarter. Simmons found the back of the net once again in the third to make the score, 16-6.
The Ravens finished the game on a 7-1 run; the Ottawa goal was by Anderson with 9:52 in the fourth. At the end of the Semifinal match, Ottawa fell to Benedictine, 23-7.

Cecily Anderson led the Braves in scoring for the Semifinal contest with three goals.
Mackenzie Simmons and
Quinn Crandall added two goals apiece. Anderson and Crandall had one assist each as well.
The Braves end their season with a 9-6 record and a 5-3 record in KCAC play. Ottawa earned the fourth seed in the KCAC Tournament.
Quinn Crandall had two big accomplishments during the 2022 season by earning the most points in a career at OU and she had 100 career goals for the Braves. Thank you to
