Esports Looking Forward to Competing in Multiple National Tournaments

OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University Esports team still has plenty of competition left ahead, with four tournaments on the horizon heading into the summer.
 
Earlier this season the Braves claimed KCAC championships in Call of Duty, Overwatch, Valorant, and League of Legends. Now they're set to compete at the national level in these respective Esports titles.
 
The Braves are 2021's defending national champions in the Collegiate Call of Duty League (CCL). OU was one of four undefeated teams in the CCL regular season bracket during the current 2022 campaign and have started off 2-0 in the first two rounds of the CCL Qualification Playoffs. The final two rounds will begin May 21st, with the Braves looking to punch their ticket to CCL Nationals and defend 2021's National Championship. The CCL National Championships final date will be announced following the playoffs. 
 
OU competes in the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) for Overwatch, Valorant, and League of Legends. The NECC will host three-day tournaments to decide National Championships for these respective titles in the last two weeks of May.

"We are really excited about the future and upcoming events," said Esports Graduate Assistant and current Interim Coach Riley Boyd. "We believe we are one of the best programs in the country. We have been lucky enough to win a lot of competitions and the chance to win nationals championships is very exciting. We hope to build on the momentum of this year and push on to win even more championships!"
