- The Braves return four starters from last season's, KCAC Champions, KCAC Tournament Champions, and NAIA National Tournament qualifying team: Katelyn Elsturn (First Team All-KCAC),

- This is the third meeting between Ottawa University and Northwestern College. The Raiders lead the series, 2-0. The first meeting happened on Nov. 14, 2001 in the Region IV Tournament. Northwestern won the match 3-1; 28-30, 30-27, 12-30, 24-30. The second meeting happened on Aug. 30, 2013 at the Bruin Labor Day Classic in Bellevue, Neb. Northwestern, then no. 23, defeated OU 3-0; 25-18, 25-13, 25-12.
