#25 Braves Fall in Five to John Brown

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Ottawa University women's volleyball team fell in five sets to John Brown University, 25-22, 16-25, 25-21, 22-25, 10-15.

How It Happened
  • The Braves a 17-11 lead over John Brown in set one. The Golden Eagles rallied and were within 23-22. Kills by Megan Wall and Radaisy Valdez ended the set, giving the Braves the 25-22 victory.
  • In set two, Ottawa struggled out of the gate and John Brown took the 25-16 victory.
  • OU went on a run at the start of set three, taking a 10-5 lead on a Jazlyn Westmoreland kill. JBU rallied and tied the set at 11-11. A kill by Westmoreland and a Golden Eagle attacking error gave the Braves a 13-11 lead. JBU rallied once more and led the Braves, 20-19. Ottawa scored the next two points on Westmoreland and Wall kills, 21-20. The Braves did not relinquish its lead, taking the set 25-21.
  • Ottawa had a 21-17 lead over JBU in set four. The Eagles ended the set on an 8-1 run to take the 25-22 victory.
  • John Brown took a 10-1 lead over the Braves in set five. Ottawa chipped away at the Golden Eagle lead and were within 14-10 after a Wall kill. JBU was able to end the set and the match by scoring the next point to take the 15-10 victory.
