Braves Look to Continue Best Start Since 2012 on the Road at Sterling

Ottawa, Kan. -- The Ottawa University men's soccer team hits the road following three straight home games, traveling to Sterling, Kan. on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. matchup against the Warriors.

Ottawa's record is currently 4-2-1. The Braves have already had their best start of a season since 2012, when OU went 4-3 in the first seven games. The 2012 squad went on to finish the season with a record of 12-7-1.

Ottawa is coming off a close 3-2 win over Kansas Wesleyan in this year's conference opener. Second half goals by Patrick Wyatt and Slobodan Novicevic just one minute apart proved to be the difference.

The Braves are led by Bence Molnar and Slobodan Novicevic up front. Molnar has seven goals and four assists for a total of 18 points, leading the team in all three categories. Novicevic follows with five goals and three assists for a total of 13 points.

The combination of Patrick Wyatt and Filippo Della Pasqua at center back has been solid, while outside back Owain Parker has shown his willingness to join the attack with two assists so far this season. Captain Jack Hatswell does his thing at central midfield, dictating much of the play for the Braves.

The series history is virtually even, with Ottawa holding a slight 9-8-2 advantage over the Warriors. The Braves look to get one back against the Warriors, who have one the last four meetings.
