Braves Road Trip to Tabor on Saturday

The Braves lost their second straight game on Wednesday night, falling 99-66 to no. 22 Sterling College in Wilson Field House. Ottawa shot 34.8 percent from the floor, 26.7 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 71.4 percent from the free throw line. OU had a 27-24 lead in bench scoring. Sterling led 18-17 in fast break points, 28-16 in points off turnovers, 38-30 in points in the paint, and 17-6 in second chance points.

Nicole Brown leads the Braves in scoring (13.9), rebounding (10.6), and blocks (2.1). Cierra Brown is OU's leader in assists (2.2) and steals (1.6) per game.

Ottawa is 3-5 on the road this season and 2-4 in road KCAC games. On the road, OU is averaging 63.8 points and shooting 41.4 percent from the floor, 29.8 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 68.2 percent from the free throw line. Opponents are scoring 65.8 points per game and are shooting 38.3 percent from the floor, 31.4 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 69.5 percent from the free throw line.

Cierra Brown and Nicole Brown are averaging in double figures on the road this season. Cierra Brown is shooting 55.4 percent from the floor and averaging 15 points per game. Nicole Brown averaging 12.7 points per game and shooting 60.3 percent from the floor.

The first meeting between the two teams happened on Nov. 20, 1979 in Ottawa. The Braves won the game 45-39.

Tabor won both meeting last season, taking a 68-46 victory over the Braves on Nov. 20, 2021 in Hillsboro and defeating OU 66-48 on Jan. 15, 2022 in Ottawa.

Tabor College is 9-7 overall and 7-4 in the KCAC. The Bluejays had their two game winning streak broken on Wednesday with a 52-50 loss to Oklahoma Wesleyan in Bartlesville. TC is 6-2 in Tabor Gymnasium this season, winning six straight. Tabor's last loss at home was on Nov. 4, 2022 to nationally ranked Northwestern College, 61-39.

In the loss to Oklahoma Wesleyan on Wednesday, Tabor held OKWU to six points in the second quarter to take a 28-21 lead into the half. In the third quarter, the Eagles switched things up on Tabor, outscoring TC 18-9 to take the 52-50 victory. Both teams scored 13 points in the fourth.

Against OKWU, Tabor shot 44 percent from the floor 18.2 percent (2-11) from behind the 3-pt line, and 44.4 percent from the free throw line. Zoe Rust led TC with 13 points and Alyvia Owens came off the bench to score 11 points.

This season, Tabor is averaging 62.8 points, 32.4 rebounds, and 13.6 assists per game. They are shooting 41.3 percent from the floor, 37.7 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 71.8 percent from the free throw line.

Tabor is ranked 39th in the NAIA in 3-pt field goals made per game (7.5), fifth in 3-pt field goal percentage (.377), and 11th in points per game allowed (53.3).

Zoe Rust leads Tabor in scoring (10) and rebounding (5.2). Teegan Werth is the team's leader in assists (2.2), Kloe Bowin leads the Bluejays in blocks (0.8), and Werth is TC's leader in steals (1.4) per game.
