OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team fell 3-0; 25-15, 15-12, 25-18, to no. 13 Missouri Baptist University on Saturday afternoon in Wilson Field House.
How it Happened
- The Braves started set one slow and trailed 5-2 to Missouri Baptist. Ottawa was not able to recover from its slow start and the Spartans took the 25-15 victory.
- In set two, MBU again took the early. This time, however, the Braves rallied and were with in 12-10 after a Kayden Kirby kill. MBU answered by scoring the next five points to increase its lead to 17-10. This time Ottawa was not able to rally and Missouri Baptist took the 25-12 victory.
- The start of set three went back and forth with OU taking a 7-6 lead. The Spartans responded with a 7-0 run to take a 13-7 lead over OU. Ottawa chipped away at the MBU lead and after two blocks by Akeil Williams and a MBU attacking error, Ottawa was within 14-13. MBU responded with a 5-2 run to take a 19-15 lead. OU was not able to stage a comeback and Missouri Baptist took the 25-18 victory.
