(23) Women's Volleyball and Avila Meet in Wilson Field House on Wednesday

Ottawa, playing without Radaisy Valdez due to injury, defeated Tabor College 3-1 (25-23, 25-17, 24-26, 25-22) last Saturday in Hillsboro. The Braves had 61 kills, a .172 attacking percentage, 52 assists, two service aces, 18 team blocks, and 114 digs.

In the win over Tabor, Katelyn Elstun led OU with 18 kills and a .267 attacking percentage. She had a double-double, finishing with 11 digs. Madison Brauner had a double-double, 20 assists and 10 digs, Ryleigh Sander finishing the match with a double-double as well. She had 29 assists and 13 digs. Lillian Holden led OU with 10 blocks and Jadore Hayes led the Braves with 35 digs.
 
Radaisy Valdez leads the Braves in kills with 314. She is averaging 4.1 kills per set. Ryleigh Sander is OU's leader in assists (487) and she is averaging 6.1 assists per set. Jadore Hayes leads the Braves in digs with 339. She is averaging 4.2 digs per set. Valdez also leads OU in blocks with 89 and she is averaging 1.2 blocks per set.

Through 21 matches, Ottawa is averaging 12.9 kills per set, 11.8 assists per set, 2.3 blocks per set, 1.03 service aces per set, and 16.06 digs per set. The Braves have a .217 attacking percentage.

OU is ranked 22nd in the NAIA in kills (1,020), 30th in kills per set (12.9), 29th in total attacks (2,950), 34th in attacking percentage (.217), 27th in assists (937), 42nd in assists per set (11.8), 47th in receptions (1,507), 10th in block assists (282), 10th in total blocks (183), 13th in blocks per set (2.32), 42nd in ball handling errors (24), 27th in points (1,284), and 42nd in points per set (16.3).

Wednesday is the 46th meeting between Ottawa University and Avila University. The Braves lead the series, 26-19 and are on a 15 match winning streak against the Eagles. OU won the meeting last year in Mabee Fieldhouse, 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-6). The Braves have won seven straight matches in Wilson Field House against Avila. The last time Ottawa lost to the Eagles at home was on Oct. 21, 2006, 3-1 (31-29, 15-30, 26-30, 21-30). The first meeting between the two teams took place on Oct. 4, 1975 in Wilson Field House. Ottawa won the match 2-0 (15-8, 15-8).

Avila University is 4-13 overall and 1-5 in the KCAC. The Eagles have lost three straight matches and enter Wednesday's contest coming off a 3-2 loss to William Woods University on Tuesday night in Mabee Fieldhouse. AU has a record of 2-6 road record and have lost three straight road matches. Avila's last road win came on Sept. 12 at Peru State College. The Eagles won the match 3-0.

Through 17 matches, the Eagles are averaging 10.6 kills per set, 9.8 assists per set, 1.5 blocks per set, 1.2 service aces per set, and 17.02 digs per set. Avila has a .108 attacking percentage.

Maddie Jones leads Avila in kills with 164 and is averaging 3.09 kills per set. Daphne Gardner is AU's leader in assists with 472. She is averaging 8.2 assists per set. Abigail Blake is the team's leader in digs (250) and is averaging 4.3 digs per set. Siobhan Dittmer .leads the Eagles in blocks with 49. She is averaging 0.8 blocks per set.
