The first meeting between the two teams happened on Sept. 11, 1987. Ottawa won the contest 2-0 (15-4, 15-4). The Braves are 0-5 on the road in Bellevue against the Bruins.

Friday will be the sixth time that Ottawa and Grand View University have played against each other. The Vikings lead the series, 3-2. OU won match up last season, on Aug. 27 in Fayette, Mo., 3-1 (24-26, 25-23, 25-11, 25-22). The first match between the two teams happened on Sept. 23, 2005 in Olathe, Kan. Ottawa won the contest 3-0 (30-24, 30-23, 30-26).

Bellevue University has an overall record of 16-6, a NSAA mark of 4-3, is ranked no. 18 in the latest NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches Top 25 and is on a two match losing streak. The Bruins enter Friday coming off a 3-0 loss to Valley City State University on Oct. 6 and a 3-1 loss to Dakota State University on Oct. 10.
