WICHITA, Kan. – The (21) Ottawa University women's volleyball team defeated Friends University 3-0; 25-9, 25-16, 25-15; on Wednesday evening at the Garvey Center.
How it Happened
- Friends scored the first two points of set one, but Ottawa answered with a 7-2 run to take a 7-4 lead over the Falcons. A Friends' time out didn't slow down the Braves and after a kill by Katelyn Elstun, Ottawa led 13-5. Ottawa held the Falcons to only four points for the remainder of the set, taking the 25-9 victory.
- The Falcons took an early 9-6 lead over the Braves in set two. Ottawa scored the next five points, taking an 11-9 lead on a Radaisy Valdez kill. OU continued to build upon its lead. A block by Lillian Holden and a kill by Chaney Barth gave the Braves a 17-12 lead. The Braves did not allow the Falcons to stage a comeback and OU took the 25-16 victory.
- Ottawa opened set three with a 7-2 lead. Kills by Valdez and Elstun increased the OU lead to 12-5. The Braves did not lift their foot off the gas pedal, taking the set 25-15.

- Ottawa finished the three set match with 47 kills, a .308 attacking percentage, 41 assists, one service ace, 60 digs, and 11 team blocks.
- Lillian Holden led OU with 15 kills and a .714 attacking percentage. She had four blocks.

- Ryleigh Sander tallied 20 assists and Madison Brauner had 19 assists.
