TOPEKA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's basketball team was defeated 97-76 by NCAA Division II Washburn University in an exhibition game on Tuesday night.
Ottawa had a 7-3 lead over Washburn in the opening minutes of the first half. The Ichabods responded with 13-2 run and led 16-9 with 13:05 on the clock.
OU cut into the lead and after a basket by
Jayden Hibbitt, Ottawa was within 22-16. The Ichabods were able to increase its lead to double figures and took a 51-35 lead into the locker room.
Washburn scored the first five points of the second half, increasing its lead to 56-35. The Braves were not able to cut into the Ichabod lead and WU took the 97-76 victory.
