OTTAWA, Kan. - The #17 Ottawa Braves return from Thanksgiving break to face off against Avila University on Thursday in Kansas City, Missouri.
OU last competed in the Missouri Valley Open on November 17th and 18th.
Aileen Lester led the way for the Braves as she placed sixth in the 136lb weight division.
Daityn Webb won one match in the 116lb weight division.
Angelique Norman went 3-2 in her matches in the 123lb weight class.
Madelynn Griffin won one match by fall in the 130lb weight division.
Aileen Lester secured sixth place by winning three matches, two by decisions and one by fall.
Siara Arrington won three matches all by falls in the 191lb weight division.
The Braves have also moved in to the Top 20 Poll at #17. Five Braves are ranked individually and two freshman join the individual rankings in
Aynsley Fink and
Aileen Lester. Fink is 18th in the 109lb weight division and Lester is 16th in the 136lb weight division.
Abigail Sebesta is 14th in the 155lb weight class and
Randie Scoon is 12th in the 155lb weight division.
Darby Weidl stays at sixth overall in the 170lb weight division.
Ottawa is 1-0 against Avila University in program history. The Braves took down the Avila Eagles in 2022, 31-13.
