Women's Basketball is on the Road at Friends on Saturday

Ottawa was defeated 95-79 by Bethel College on Wednesday night in Wilson Field House. OU shot 33.3 percent from the floor, 26.1 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 91.3 percent from the free throw line. Kennedy Bankett scored 21 points on 8-for-15 shooting from the floor. She also had eight rebounds and two steals.

The Braves are led in scoring by Abby Dietsche who is averaging 12.9 points per game. She is shooting 39.1 percent from the floor, and 41.7 percent from behind the 3-pt line. Dietsche also leads OU in rebounding, averaging 8.1 rebounds per game. Janiyah Hendricks is OU's leader in assists per game with 2.9 and Katleyn Alatini leads the Braves in steals per game (2.0).

OU is 1-0 on the road this season, averaging 73 points per game. The Braves are shooting 37.3 percent from the floor, 37 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 40.6 percent form the free throw line. Opponents are scoring 68 points per game and shooting 37.3 percent from the floor, 20 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 72.7 percent from the free throw line.

The Braves last win at the Garvey Center was a post season victory in the semifinals of the KCAC Tournament. Ottawa upset the second seeded Falcons, 71-63, on Feb. 27, 2016. The Braves have lost seven straight games to Friends in Wichita. The two teams played each other three times last season. Ottawa fell 61-49 at the Garvey Center to Friends on Dec. 3. The Braves took a 60-45 victory in Wilson Field House on Feb. 1. Friends defeated OU in the KCAC Tournament semifinals in Wilson Field House on Feb. 25, 57-52.

Friends University is 5-2 overall, 3-0 in the KCAC, and enters Saturday's game coming off a 69-51 victory over Bethany College in Lindsborg on Wednesday night.

The Falcons are 4-1 in their last five games with its loss to Columbia College, 74-49, on Nov. 25 in Columbia, Mo.

Friends is averaging 70 points, 44.4 rebounds, and 14.1 assists per game. The Falcons are shooting 39.2 percent from the floor, 28.7 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 56.9 percent from the free throw line.

The Falcons are ranked 28th in the NAIA in 3-pt field goals attempted per game (25.9), 25th in offensive rebounds per game (16.1), 25th in total rebounds per game (44.4), 17th in blocks per game (4.3), 38th in points per game allowed (58.0), 22nd in opponent field goal percentage (.337), and 43rd in opponent 3-pt field goal percentage (.252).

Rayland Garner leads Friends in scoring, averaging 17.3 points per game. She is shooting 50 percent from the floor and 12.5 percent from behind the 3-pt line. Taylor Jackson is the Falcons' leader in rebounds (11) per game, Lauryn McIver is the team's leader in assists (3.3) per game, and Garner leads Friends in steals per game with 2.7.

In its two losses this season, Friends is averaging 48 points per game and shooting 26.2 percent from the floor, 22.2 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 50 percent from the free throw line.
