Women's Soccer Advances to KCAC Tournament Semifinal After PK Thriller Against Tabor

Ottawa, Kan.- The Ottawa women's soccer team survived and advanced in the KCAC Tournament as they drew Tabor 0-0 in regulation, but took them down 4-2 in penalties. After 110 minutes of scoreless play, the two teams went to the penalty shootout. Ottawa converted four of their five penalties, with Alondra Carbajal-Pettry, Rebecca Lilley, Liv Staberg, Nathalie Merts the ones finding the back ot the net. Carbajal-Pettry, who was subbed into the match in goal for the penalty shotoout, saved two of four penalties. In the first four periods, Olivia Ekwall made five saves and picked up her fifth clean sheet of the season.
Ottawa (7-5-7, 7-1-5 KCAC) continues their season on Wednesday, November 8 as they travel to the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kan. for the KCAC Tournament semifinal against Oklahoma Wesleyan University. That match is scheduled to kick off at 5 PM.
