Women's Basketball Road Trips to Missouri Baptist for a Non-Conference Match Up

Ottawa won its second straight game on Saturday afternoon, defeating McPherson 78-53 at the Sport Center. OU shot 46.2 percent from the floor, 42.3 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 70 percent from the free throw line. The Braves had three players in double figures led by Kennedy Bankett's 19 points on 9-for-10 shooting from the floor.

This season, the Braves are averaging 76.9 points, 40.1 rebounds, and 13.3 assists per game. They are shooting 38.1 percent from the floor, 34.2 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 71.8 percent from the free throw line.

Kennedy Bankett leads the Braves in scoring, averaging 13.7 points per game. She is shooting 54 percent from the floor, and 40.9 percent from behind the 3-pt line. Abby Dietsche leads the Braves in rebounding, averaging 8.4 per game. Janiyah Hendricks is OU's leader in assists (3.4) and steals (2.4) per game.

Abby Dietsche leads the NAIA in blocks with 29 through 10 games. She is averaging 2.9 blocks per contest.
Ottawa is 2-1 on the road this season. OU is scoring 70.7 points and shooting 39.4 percent from the floor, 36.9 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 55.8 percent from the free throw line away from Wilson Field House this season.

Tuesday's game is the third meeting between Ottawa University and Missouri Baptist University. The series is tied 1-1. MBU defeated OU 56-49 at the USM Classic in Leavenworth, Kan. on Nov. 23, 2013. Ottawa won the first match up between the two teams on Nov. 14, 1987 in Point Lookout, Mo., 68-67. This will be the first time that they have played each other in Saint Louis.

Missouri Baptist University has an overall record of 1-4 this season and will start its conference play on January 4 at Stephens College. MBU's victory came against St. Ambrose University on Nov. 8, 88-51.

The Spartans have played three exhibition contests this season against Southwest Baptist (L, 72-51), Drury (L, 114-74), and Missouri S&T (W, 77-72).

MBU enters Tuesday's game coming off an 87-68 loss to (RV) College of the Ozarks. Bryce Dowell led the Spartans in scoring with 20 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the floor. Amar Mansour was the other Spartan in double figures, finishing with 13 points.

Missouri Baptist is averaging 73.2 points, 42 rebounds, and 12.8 assists per game. The Spartans are shooting 41.9 percent from the floor, 33 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 67.4 percent from the free throw line.

MBU is ranked 49th in the NAIA in 3-pt field goal percentage (.330) and 20th in offensive rebounds per game (16).

Bryce Dowell leads Missouri Baptist in scoring, averaging 15.6 points per game. Amar Mansour leads the team in rebounding, averaging 7.2 rebounds per game. She also is MBU's leader in assists, averaging 4.6 per game. Deyana Dodd is the team's leader in steals per game, averaging 2.3 per contest.
