OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University softball team swept William Woods University on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Park. OU won game one in five innings, 8-0, and took game two, 6-0.
Game One
Ottawa took the lead in the bottom of the third. With the bases loaded,
Madison Bunfill hit a sacrifice fly to left, scoring
Riley Newbold to give OU a 1-0 lead.
The Braves increased their lead in the bottom of the fourth.
Emma Melvin reached first on a miscue by the WWU shortstop and Stacie Bond came in as a pinch runner.
Nayely Delgado doubled to left, moving Bond to third.
Cierra Faubion scored Bond with an infield single and OU led 2-0.
Ottawa pushed its lead to 3-0 on a
Riley Newbold bunt that scored Delgado with a bunt. OU scored its final run of the inning on
Katie Enneking's ground out to second. Faubion scored and OU had a 4-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth the OU offense scored four runs to end the game in five innings.
Reagan Hammons pinch hit a single to right, scoring two and the Braves lead 6-0.
Macey Morris' single to left scored one more run for the Braves, giving OU a 7-0 lead. Ottawa ended the game with a single to center by Enneking. Her hit scored Hammons and OU took the 8-0 victory.

Kelcie Kippes with a double to center, giving OU a 2-0 lead.
The Braves increased their lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the bases loaded,
Emma Melvin was hit by a pitch.
Riley Newbold scored and OU had a 3-0 lead. Ottawa increased its lead to 5-0 on a pinch hit double to right by Regan Hammons. Her hit scored both
Allison Kearney and Bunfill. Ottawa scored its final run of the inning on a Kippes' single to right.
Hallie Robison scored, and the Braves took the lead and the game, 6-0.

Ottawa (10-2) will now play in the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic starting on Friday, March 3 in Oklahoma City, Okla. OU opens the tournament against Saint Mary of the Woods College at 9am.
