Braves Host Midland in Home Opener on Saturday at AdventHealth Field

The Braves have opened the season with three straight victories and now have won 14 straight games, dating back to the 2022 season. OU's last loss happened on March 16, 2022 at Webber International University, 31-0, in Babson Park, Fla. Ottawa defeated Florida Atlantic University 39-0 on March 17 and the University of Central Florida, 33-14 on March 19.

In the win over FAU, Madysen Carrera threw for 176 yards and four touchdowns. Mya Quinn threw for 83 yards and one touchdown. Jazlyn Camacho and Randrea Gamble led OU with four receptions apiece. Camacho had 104 yards and two touchdowns. Addison Orsborn and Abby Brown had seven tackles apiece. Nina GraveDePeral had two inteceptions, Faron Malouff and Jukanie Washington had one interception apice.

Madysen Carrera went 19-for-26 through air in OU's win over UCF, for 252 yards and two touchdowns. She also rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Alyssa Linkous had seven receptions for 126 yards and one touchdown. Abby Brown had eight tackles and one pass break up. Addison Orsborn finished the game with two pass break ups and she had three tackles.

Ottawa is averaging 35 points per game and 305.3 yards per game. The OU defense is holding opponents to six points and 206 yards of offense per game.

The Braves are 10-0 all-time at AdventHealth Field. Ottawa had a record of 3-0 in 2021 and 7-0 in 2022.

Saturday is the seventh meeting between Ottawa University and Midland University. Ottawa leads the series 6-0. The Braves the three meetings last season. OU defeated MU 41-12 on Feb. 26, 2022 at AdventHealth Field. The teams met in Salina at KWU on March 26, 2022, taking the 41-0 victory. The two teams met in the KCAC Tournament at AdventHealth Field on April 23, 2022. Ottawa won the game, 34-6.  

Midland University is 7-1 this season and 2-1 in the KCAC. The Warriors have equaled the most wins in program history, set in 2021, with their seven wins this season.

MU won its first five games of the season before falling to Kansas Wesleyan University 20-18 on March 15 at Heedum Field. The Warriors are on a two game winning streak with wins, on March 22, over Bethel College (40-0) in North Newton, Kan. and Hesston College (37-13) in Hesston, Kan.

In Midland's win over Bethel on March 22, Mikaela Nunez went 15-for-24 through the air for 153 yards and three touchdowns. She was sacked once. Angel Kaio threw for 87 yards (8-for-13). She threw two touchdown passes and had two interceptions. Nunez also rushed for 35 yards and one touchdown. Alexis Dominguez-Millsop had seven receptions for 70 yards and one touchdown. Cydnee Redd led the team in tackles with six. She also had four sacks.
