OTTAWA, Kan. – The (20) Ottawa University softball team took two games from Avila University on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Park to move its winning streak to 10 games. OU won game one, 3-2 and defeated the Eagles 7-6 in game two.
Game One
Ottawa struck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Katie Enneking reached first with a single to center.
Madison Bunfill scored her with a double to left, giving OU the early lead.
The Braves increased its lead over the Eagles in the bottom of the second inning.
Nayely Delgado singled to left and
Aliks Serna reached first after being hit by a pitch.
Cierra Faubion's sacrifice bunt moved Delgado to third and Serna to second.
Macey Morris then singled to left, scoring Delgado to give Ottawa a 2-0 lead. Ottawa pushed one more run across home plate on double steal by Serna and Morris and the Braves had a 3-0 lead.
The Eagle cut into the Brave lead with a run in the top of the sixth inning, 3-1. In the top of the seventh, after an Avila leadoff single, it was three up and three down as the Braves took the 3-1 victory.

Game Two
Ottawa struck first, taking the lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Riley Newbold led OU off with a single to right. She then stole second and third.
Katie Enneking reached first on a fielder's choice and then moved to second on a stolen base.
Allison Kearney hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Newbold to give OU a 1-0 lead. Enneking then took advantage of an Eagle error, crossing home plate on a missed catch and OU had a 2-0 lead.
In the top of the third, Avila took its first lead of the day with three runs, 3-2. Ottawa answered in the bottom of the third.
Madison Bunfill doubled to left, scoring Enneking and Kearney and the Braves retook the lead 4-3.
The Eagles responded with two runs of their own in the top of the fourth, retaking the lead 5-4. Ottawa retook the lead in the bottom of the fifth. A single by Kearney and a double by Bunfill gave OU runners on second and third.
Emma Ryan doubled to left scoring both Kearney and Bunfill to give OU a 6-5 lead.
Cierra Faubion followed that with a single to right, scoring Ryan and Ottawa had a 7-5 lead.
Avila tried to rally, scoring a run in the sixth and getting its lead off on first in the top of the seventh. But
Loralei Gilbert got the next three Eagles to fly out, strike out and fly out to give the Braves the 7-6 victory.

Ottawa (23-4) returns to action on Wednesday, March 29 in a non-conference contest against Park University in Parkville, Mo. Game one of the double header is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
