OTTAWA, Kan. –The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports have announced their Men's Volleyball Players of the Week and Ottawa University sophomore, Akeil Williams, has been named Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Williams, a middle blocker from Barbados, had 20 blocks and averaged 2.2 blocks per set and 6.6 blocks per match in three victories last week. He also had 32 kills, a .520 attacking percentage, and averaged 10.6 kills per match and 3.5 kills per set.

Ottawa returns to the court on Wednesday, March 8 against Central Christian College at 11:30 a.m. in McPherson, Kan.
