Ottawa defeated the University of Saint Mary 68-0 and Cottey College 46-0 on Wednesday night at AdventHealth Field.

In the win over Saint Mary,
Madysen Carrera rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown. She also threw for 185 yards (19-for-22) and five touchdowns.
Jazlyn Camacho led OU in receptions with seven. She had 63 yards receiving and two touchdown receptions.
Abby Brown had seven tackles, three interceptions, and one pass break up.
Susann Kaufmann and
Dejonice Parris had six tackles apiece and one sack apiece.
Hannah Serquina and
Jukanie Washington each had an interception.
In the victory over Cottey College,
Randrea Gamble led the Braves with 23 yards rushing.
Madysen Carrera threw for 301 yards (18-for-25) and six touchdowns. Those six touchdown passes tie her own school record that she set on April 9, 2021 and tied again on March 15, 2022.
Jazlyn Camacho and
Alyssa Linkous had two touchdown receptions apiece. Camacho finished the game with six receptions for 126 yards. Linkous,
Mandolyn Scalisi, and
Randrea Gamble had three receptions apiece.
Abby Brown led OU with six tackles and had a 41 yard interception return for a touchdown.
Jukanie Washington and
Nina GraveDePeralta each finished the game with an interception.
Madysen Carrera leads the Braves in passing. She is 151-for-207 through the air for 1,887 yards and 32 touchdowns. Carrera is completing 72.9 percent of her passes and is averaging 235.9 passing yards per game. Carrera also leads OU in rushing. She is has 362 rushing yards, averaging 45.3 yards per game. Carrera has scored three touchdowns and averages 7.4 yards per carry.
Alyssa Linkous leads the Braves in receptions with 35. She has 548 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Linkous averages 78.3 receiving yards per game.
Jazlyn Camacho and
Bailey Hodgins both have 32 receptions. Camacho is tied for the team lead with Linkous in touchdown receptions with 10. Hodgins is averaging 10.1 yards per reception and 40.3 receiving yards per game. She had four touchdown receptions.
Abby Brown leads the Braves in tackles with 42. She is averaging 5.3 tackles per game. Brown also has six interceptions and six pass break ups.
Addison Orsborn is second on the team in tackles with 25. She has three sacks and five pass break ups. As a team, the Braves have 12 sacks, 19 interceptions, and 23 pass break ups.
Through eight games, Ottawa is averaging 332.1 yards of offense per game. The Braves are averaging 57.4 rushing yards per game and 274.8 yards through the air. OU's offense is scoring 40.4 points per game. The OU defense is holding opponents to 184.5 yards of offense per game, 23.8 rushing and 160.8 passing. Opponents are scoring 6.5 points per game.
Saturday is the first meeting between Ottawa University and Reinhardt University. It is also the first time that the Braves are playing a regular season game in the state of Georgia.
Reinhardt University is in its inaugural season and have a record of 3-9 and are 1-2 at home this season. The Eagles are on a three game losing streak with their last win coming on March 25 at home against Campbellsville, 18-8.
The Braves swept the KCAC Player of the Week awards for the second straight week.
Madysen Carrera earned her second straight KCAC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Dejonice Parris was named KCAC Defensive Player of the Week
Carrera, a quarterback from Riverview, Fla. went 39-for-56 through the air for 459 yards and eight touchdowns in two games last week. She averaged 229.5 passing yards per game last week and completed 69.6 percent of her passes. With Ottawa trailing 20-14 at the half to Kansas Wesleyan, Carrera threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, 38 yards and 20 yards to
Alyssa Linkous, to help the Braves get the come from behind victory. Â
Parris, a linebacker from Hollywood, Fla., had six tackles, two tackles for loss, and two sacks in two games last week for the Braves. With Kansas Wesleyan University driving, four seconds on the clock and Ottawa leading 28-20, she sacked the KWU quarterback. That sack ended the game and preserved Ottawa's come from behind victory last Saturday at AdventHealth Field.
