Women's Soccer on the Road against #5 Oklahoma Wesleyan

Ottawa, Kan.- The Ottawa women's soccer team is on the road for their first KCAC away game of the 2023 season against Oklahoma Wesleyan. Ottawa is 0-4-2 on the season and 0-0-1 in KCAC play. The Braves most recently took the field last Saturday, as they hosted York. York struck first in the 22nd minute, but Ottawa leveled the score at 1-1 in the 40th minute off a Jessenia Velez goal, assisted by Elle Haan. The game went through a series of delays, and was officially suspended in the 66th minute. That game will be made up on Friday, September 22 at 2 PM. Ottawa's leading goalscorer is Rebecca Lilley with 3 goals. Alma Eriksson, Peyton Hack, and Jessenia Velez have one goal apiece. Oklahoma Wesleyan comes into this game ranked fifth nationally with a 4-0-1 record, 2-0-0 in KCAC play. The Eagles have non-conference wins over Lindsey Wilson and Jamestown, and a 1-1 tie against #20 Olivet Nazarene. In KCAC play, Oklahoma Wesleyan has 2-0 and 3-1 wins over Southwestern and Bethel.
