Ottawa, Kan.- The Ottawa women's soccer team is on the road for their first KCAC away game of the 2023 season against Oklahoma Wesleyan. Ottawa is 0-4-2 on the season and 0-0-1 in KCAC play. The Braves most recently took the field last Saturday, as they hosted York. York struck first in the 22nd minute, but Ottawa leveled the score at 1-1 in the 40th minute off a Jessenia Velez goal, assisted by Elle Haan. The game went through a series of delays, and was officially suspended in the 66th minute. That game will be made up on Friday, September 22 at 2 PM. Ottawa's leading goalscorer is Rebecca Lilley with 3 goals. Alma Eriksson, Peyton Hack, and Jessenia Velez have one goal apiece. Oklahoma Wesleyan comes into this game ranked fifth nationally with a 4-0-1 record, 2-0-0 in KCAC play. The Eagles have non-conference wins over Lindsey Wilson and Jamestown, and a 1-1 tie against #20 Olivet Nazarene. In KCAC play, Oklahoma Wesleyan has 2-0 and 3-1 wins over Southwestern and Bethel. Tania Mocholi is the leading scorer for the Eagles with 10 goals on the season. Alana Doherty and Linn Joelsson are Oklahoma Wesleyan's other multiple goal scorers with two each.
