(18) Women's Volleyball Road Trips to Salina to Play Kansas Wesleyan and Hannibal-LaGrange on Saturday

Ottawa is on a three match winning streak after victories over (RV) Oklahoma Wesleyan University (3-2), William Woods University (3-0), and (10) Columbia College (3-1) last weekend in Wilson Field House. In those three wins last weekend, Ottawa had 158 kills, a .225 attacking percentage, 141 assists, five service aces, 172 digs, and 22 team blocks.

With the 3-2 win over (RV) Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Friday afternoon, Ottawa is now 8-2 in conference openers under head coach Melissa Blessington.

Through 15 matches, Ottawa is averaging 12.7 kills per set, 11.7 assists per set, 2.1 blocks per set, 1.07 service aces per set, and 15.09 digs per set. OU has a .223 attacking percentage.

The Braves are ranked 23rd in the NAIA in kills (741), 32nd in kills per set (12.7), 27th in total attacks (2,097), 30th in attacking percentage (.223), 25th in assists (683), 41st in assists per set (11.7), 39th in receptions (1,098), 36th in solo blocks (32), 17th in block assists (184), 15th in total blocks (124), 26th in blocks per set (2.1), 38th in ball handling errors (16), and 28th in points (927).

Radaisy Valdez is ranked sixth in the NAIA in kills (244), 10th in kills per set (4.2), first in attacking percentage (.475), 17th in solo blocks (15), 14th in block assists (51), seventh in total blocks (66), and 26th in blocks per set (1.1).

Radaisy Valdez leads the Braves in kills with 244. She is averaging 4.2 per set. Ryleigh Sander is OU's leader in assist with 355. In OU's 6-2 offense, she is averaging 6.1 per set. Sander is also leading OU in service aces with 20. Jadore Hayes is the team's leader in digs with 234. She is averaging 4.03 per set. Valdez also leads the team in blocks with 66 and she is averaging 1.1 blocks per set.

Saturday's match against Kansas Wesleyan University is the 100th meeting between the two teams. KWU leads the series 51-48. Ottawa is 4-1 in its last five matches against the Coyotes. The two teams split the matches last year. KWU defeated the Braves 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 26-24) in Wilson Field House on Sept. 13 in a non-conference match. Ottawa defeated Kansas Wesleyan 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 27-25) in Wilson Field House on Oct. 8 in a KCAC match. The first meeting between the two teams took place on Sept. 28, 1979 in Salina. Kansas Wesleyan won the match 2-0 (15-12, 15-12). The Coyotes won the first 22 matches in the series between the two teams. Ottawa first win over KWU happened on Oct. 2, 1990 in Salina. The Braves took the 2-0 (15-12, 15-12) victory.

Ottawa University and Hannibal-LaGrange University have only met one other time. The Trojans defeated the Braves on Sept. 12, 2008 at the Lubbock Christian Tournament 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-16).

Kansas Wesleyan University is 12-7 overall and 2-0 in the KCAC. After falling 3-1 to John Brown University on Sept. 8, the Coyotes have won six straight matches with victories over Culver Stockton (3-0), Haskell Indian Nations University (3-0), Sterling College (3-0), (12) Bellevue University (3-1), William Woods University (3-1), and McPherson College (3-1).

Through 19 matches, Kansas Wesleyan is averaging 12.3 kills per set, 10.9 assists per set, 1.5 blocks per set, 1.3 service aces per set, and 15.6 digs per set. The Coyotes have a .193 attacking percentage.

Kansas Wesleyan is ranked 11th in the NAIA in kills (801), 50th in kills per set (12.3), 18th in errors (357), 12th in total attacks (2,314), 18th in assists (714), 11th in receptions (1,244), 10th in reception errors (119), 20th in digs (1,014), 30th in block assists (170), 36th in total blocks (105), and 17th in points (993).

Rylee Serpan leads KWU in kills with 252. She is averaging 3.9 kills per set. Josie Deckinger leads the team in assists with 605 and is averaging 9.3 assists per set. Sarah Girard leads the Coyotes in service aces with 22. Kelcey Hund is KWU's leader in digs with 305. She is averaging 5.8 digs per set. Kyla Moore is the Coyotes leader in blocks with 47 and is averaging 0.7 blocks per set.

Rylee Serpan and Kelcey Hund were named NAIA Attacker and Defender of the Week for their efforts in wins over Sterling, Bellevue, and William Woods.

Hannibal-LaGrange University is 2-11 and is on a two match losing streak. After wins over Anderson University and Webster University on Sept. 9, the Trojans lost to the University of Saint Mary (3-0) and Haskell Indian Nations University (3-0) on Sept. 13 in Leavenworth.

Through 13 matches, the Trojans are averaging 9.4 kills per set, 8.5 assists per set, 0.9 blocks per set, 1.2 service aces per set, and 15.4 digs per set. HLGU has a .060 attacking percentage.

The Trojans are ranked 45th in the NAIA in reception errors (95).

Chloe Moore leads HLGU in kills with 93. She is averaging 1.9 kills per set. Kaitlyn Holmgren leads the team in assists with 189 and she is averaging 4.02 assists per set. Ryann Blankenship is the Trojans' leader in service aces with 15. Frances Knaul is HLGU's leader in digs (214) and is averaging 4.5 digs per set. Moore also leads the team in blocks with 23 and is averaging 0.4 per set.
