Men's Soccer Takes Down Southwestern

Ottawa, Kan.- The Ottawa men's soccer team defeated Southwestern by a score of 6-2 on Wednesday evening at AdventHealth Field. Felipe Padierna scored the first goal for the Braves in the 25th minute, and Toby Whitham scored one of his own in the 30th. Slobodan Novicevic scored two minutes later in the 31st to give Ottawa a 3-0 lead going into halftime. Mamadou Diarra scored a penalty kick in the 70th minute, and cut the lead to 1 after a 77th minute Eduardo Gonzalez goal. Ottawa responded with three goals of their own, scored in the 80th, 82nd, and 83rd minutes by Bence Molnar, Filippo Della Pasqua, and Vladan Pavlovic. Each of the six goals were scored by a different Ottawa player, and Alonso Basauri tallied three assists.
Ottawa (5-3-1, 4-1-0 KCAC) returns to the field on Saturday, September 30 as they travel to Lindsborg, Kan. to take on Bethany College. That match is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 PM.
