(23) Women's Volleyball Hosts Bethany on Friday

Ottawa won its second straight match with a 3-0; 25-17, 25-19, 25-14; victory over Southwestern College in Stewart Field House on Wednesday night. The win is OU's 30th straight over the Moundbuilders and the Braves have won 24 straight sets against Southwestern.

Through 18 matches this season, Ottawa is averaging 12.8 kills per set, 11.8 assists per set, 2.2 blocks per set, 1.04 service aces per set, 15.4 digs per set. The Braves have a .219 attacking percentage.

The Braves are ranked 17th in the NAIA in kills (887), 34th in kills per set (12.8), 27th in total attacks (2,507), 31st in attacking percentage (.219), 16th in assists (820), 37th in assists per set (11.8), 31st in receptions (1,301), 46th in digs (1,064), 38th in solo blocks (39), 16th in block assists (226), 13th in total blocks (152), 21st in blocks per set (2.2), 33rd in ball handling errors (20), 20th in points (1,111), and 46th in points per set (16.1).

Radaisy Valdez leads the Braves in kills with 289. She is averaging 4.1 kills per set. Ryleigh Sander is OU's leader in assists with 429 and is averaging 6.2 assists per set. Jadore Hayes is the team's leader in digs with 280. She is averaging 4.06 digs per set. Valdez also leads the team in blocks with 81. She is averaging 1.1 blocks per set.

Friday is the 84th meeting between Ottawa University and Bethany College. OU leads the series 49-34 and is on a 10 match winning streak against the Swedes. The Braves have won 15 straight sets against Bethany. The last time Ottawa played more than three sets against BC was on Oct. 5, 2019 in Lindsborg. Ottawa won the match 3-2 (20-25, 14-25, 25-21, 25-23, 15-8). Ottawa's last loss to Bethany happened on Oct. 4, 2017 in Lindsborg, 3-2 (25-21, 16-25, 25-21, 22-25, 9-15. Bethany College is 4-11 overall, are 0-2 in the KCAC, and enters Friday's game coming off a 3-0 win over Evangel University. The Swedes are averaging 9.6 kills per set, 8.9 assists per set, 1.4 blocks per set, 1.3 service aces per set, and 18.5 digs per set. They have a 0.080 attacking percentage.

The Swedes are ranked 13th in the NAIA in digs per set (18.5) and 14th in ball handling errors (26).

Atlantis Jamerson leads Bethany in kills with 119 and she is averaging 2.2 kills per set. Mandy Knipp is BC's leader in assists with 300. She is averaging 6.5 assists per set. Michelle Acevedo Ortiz is the Swedes' leader in digs with 276 and she is averaging 5.3 digs per set. Madison McGuire is Bethany's leader in blocks with 31. She is averaging 0.6 blocks per set.
