OTTAWA, Kan. - The #15 Ottawa women's wrestling team faces the Friends Falcons on Tuesday, January 16th in Wichita, Kansas.
Ottawa was last on the mats on January 7th at the Hastings Open,
Erin Wetterstrom placed sixth overall in the 101lb weight class after going 2-3 in her matches.
Daityn Webb won all three matches in the 109lb weight division to secure first place, Webb won the matches by two falls and one technical fall.
Addison Saporito took home third place by going 4-1 in her matches in the 116lb weight division.
Emma Truex battled in the 123lb weight class and won four matches.
Peyton Hand earned third place in the 130lb weight division and 4-1 on the day.
Madelynn Griffin went 4-2 in the 130lb weight class to place fourth overall. In the 136lb weight division,
Lindsay Witt won three matches and placed fourth.
Livia Swift defeated five opponents to secure third place in the 143lb weight class. Winning three matches and taking home fifth place in the 155lb weight division was
Akaiya Tinsley.
Siara Arrington went 2-2 in the 191lb and earned fourth place.
Hannah Jackson won the 235lb weight division by winning all three matches, two by falls and one by a 3-1 decision.
The Braves move to #15 in the latest NAIA Top 20 Poll. Six Braves are ranked individually in their respective weight divisions. Anysley Fink is #17 in the 109lb weight class,
Aileen Lester is 11th in the 136lb,
Randie Scoon is ninth in the 143lb weight division,
Abigail Sebesta is 11th in the 155lb weight class,
Darby Weidl is sixth in the 170lb weight division and
Siara Arrington is 20th in the 191lb weight class.
Ottawa is 1-0 against the Falcons, OU defeated Friends in 2022, 35-9.
Angelique Martinez started the dual with a win in the 109lb weight division on a forfeit.
Olivia O'Donnell picked up a win on a fall in the 116lb weight class.
Macey Gross also won a fall in the 130lb weight division.
Derriane Morrison came up short in her match in the 136lb weight division. In the 143lb weight class, #17 ranked
Livia Swift picked up the victory on a fall.
Abigail Sebesta was upended in the 155lb weight division.
Ingrid Beltran-Gonzaga won in the 170lb weight division on a forfeit. #10 ranked
Darby Weidl wrestled one weight class up and took down her opponent on a fall, she proved why she is ranked #10 in the country.
