OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's basketball team was defeated 84-67 by no. 4 Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Wednesday night in Wilson Field House.
The teams exchanged baskets in the opening minutes of the first half with OU taking a 16-15 lead on a 3-pt field goal by
Amil Fields. OKWU scored the next eight points and led 23-16 with 9:16 left in the first half.
Ottawa cut the deficit to five points, but the Eagles increased its lead to double digits, 34-23. OU cut into the Eagle lead once more and were within 42-33 on a three by Fields with 1:27 on the clock. OKWU finished the half by scoring the final four points, taking a 46-33 lead into the locker room.
The Braves cut the Eagle lead to eight points in the opening minutes of the second half with five straight points by
Kamren Woods, 48-40. OKWU pushed its lead back to double figures and led 71-52 with 6:58 on the clock.
Ottawa was not able to rally and both teams emptied their benches in the final minute of play as the Eagles took the 84-67 victory.
