Bethel Holds off Women's Soccer's Late Comeback

Ottawa, KAN. - The Ottawa women's soccer team suffered another loss as they fell to Bethel by a score of 2-1 on Saturday evening at AdventHealth Field.

After a scoreless first half, Malayasia Larque broke the deadlock in the 54th minute to give the visiting Threshers the lead. Larque found the back of the net again in the 59th minute to double Bethel's lead. Erin Wetterstrom scored her first goal of the season with a long range shot in the 85th minute and nearly tied the game up with another long range shot in the 87th minute, but the ball rattled around in the crossbar and post before being saved.

Ottawa led both shots and shots on goal, 23 to nine and 13 to seven, respectively. Alondra Carbajal-Pettry made five saves in goal for the Braves.

Ottawa (1-9-3, 1-5-3 KCAC) is back in action on Wednesday, October 23 as they travel to Wichita, Kansas for an away match at Friends University. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
