Wednesday is the 14th match between Ottawa University and Evangel University. The Valor leads the series, 10-3. OU snapped its eight match losing streak to the Valor last year, defeating EU 3-0 on Oct. 25, 2023 in Wilson Field House (25-21, 25-20, 25-22). Wednesday will be OU's first match against Evangel in Springfield. The first time the two teams met was on Sept. 15, 1984 at the Penn Valley Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. The Valor won the match 2-0 (15-7, 15-5).
Evangel University is 20-4 overall, 7-2 in the KCAC, and are on a two match winning streak with wins over Southwestern (3-0) in Winfield on Oct. 23 and Sterling (3-0) on Oct. 26 in Springfield.
