Women's Volleyball is on the Road at Sterling on Saturday

The Braves defeated (RV) Evangel University 3-2 on Wednesday night. Ottawa finished the match with 60 kills, a .175 attacking percentage, 57 assists, two service aces, 111 digs, and 14 team blocks.

OU's win over Evangel in Springfield, Mo. was the Braves first road victory over Evangel in program history. Prior to that win, 12 matches had been played at a neutral site and one had been played in Wilson Field House.

Through 24 matches, Ottawa is averaging 12.7 kills per set, 11.9 assists per set, 2.1 blocks per set, 0.9 service aces per set, and 18.2 digs per set. OU has a .202 attacking percentage.

Radaisy Valdez leads the Braves in kills per set (3.1) and blocks per set (1.04). Madison Brauner is OU's leader in assists per set (6.2), and Kenzie Kuxhaus leads Ottawa in digs per set (6.1).

Kenzie Kuxhaus' 613 digs ranks her seventh in the OU record book. She is the sixth Brave in program history to record over 600 digs in a season.

Ottawa is ranked 39th in the NAIA in kills (1,258), 35th in total attacks (3,804), 48th in attacking percentage (.200), 41st in assists (1,178), 52nd in assists per set (11.9), 44th in receptions (1,968), 28th in digs (1,794), 25th in digs per set (18.1), 23rd in solo blocks (69), 27th in block assists (320), 17th in total blocks (229), 17th in blocks per set (2.3), 12th in blocking errors (59), and 50th in points (1587.0).

Saturday is the 87th match between Ottawa University and Sterling College. OU leads the series, 49-37, and is on a 21 match winning streak against the Warriors. Ottawa has not lost to Sterling since Sept. 30, 2011. The Warriors won the match 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-21) in Sterling. OU has also won 10 straight road matches against Sterling with its last  road loss to the Warriors on Sept. 30, 2011. The first match between the two teams happened on Nov. 6, 1976. Ottawa won the match 2-1 (15-11, 4-15, 15-10).

Sterling College is 12-13 overall, has a record of 2-8 in the KCAC, and is on a three match losing streak. After defeating Haskell 3-0 on Oct. 19, the Warriors have lost 3-0 to UN Kearney on Oct. 23, Evangel University on Oct. 26, and Bethel College on Oct. 30.

Through 25 matches, Sterling is averaging 11.05 kills per set, 9.9 assists per set, 1.8 blocks per set, 1.7 service aces per set, and 16.6 digs per set. SC has a .154 attacking percentage.

Sterling is ranked 14th in the NAIA in ball handling errors (15).

Aliya McClanahan leads the Warriors in kills per set (3.09), Aubrey Young is SC's leader in assists per set (8.4), Makenna Linden leads the team in digs per set (5.06), and McClanahan is the Warriors' leader in blocks per set (1.1).
