Men's Soccer to Take On (2) Oklahoma Wesleyan in KCAC Tournament Championship

Ottawa, KAN. - The Ottawa men's soccer team looks to secure a KCAC Tournament title as they take on (2) Oklahoma Wesleyan in the championship.

Ottawa holds a 10-7-3 overall record and a 6-3-3 KCAC record.
After a 4-1 quarterfinal win over Friends last Wednesday, the Braves beat Kansas Wesleyan 2-0 on Friday in Wichita. Slobodan Novicevic and Alonso Basauri scored goals, and Cale Scott and Jevan Purcell-Jackson, respectively, assisted those goals.
Cale Scott and Alonso Basauri are the joint-leading goalscorers for Ottawa with 13 goals. Basauri is the assists leader with eleven, while Scott has made ten.
Oklahoma Wesleyan holds a 19-1-0 overall record and a 13-0-0 KCAC record.
The Eagles only loss of the season came at the hands of William Penn on August 30.
Oklahoma Wesleyan beat York and Bethel to make the championship game.
Pol Mur is the Eagles' leading goalscorer with 14 goals. Adrian Mejia is the assists leader with nine.
Ottawa and Kansas Wesleyan have met 26 times, with the Eagles leading, 18-4-4.
In the regular season matchup between the two teams in Ottawa, OKWU scored first in the 66th minute. Slobodan Novicevic tied the game up in the 74th minute, but the Eagles would take the match with an 86th minute goal.
Ottawa is looking for their first win over Oklahoma Wesleyan since 2003, and their first KCAC Tournament championship since 2004.
