Ottawa, KAN. - The Ottawa men's soccer team opens up their postseason at home as they host Friends in the KCAC Tournament Quarterfinals.
Ottawa finished out the regular season with an 8-7-3 overall record and a 6-3-3 KCAC record.
The Braves are coming off a 10-0 home victory over Sterling last Saturday.
Cale Scott is the leading goalscorer for Ottawa with 13 goals.
Alonso Basauri and
Bence Molnar have scored ten goals each. Basauri is the assists leader with eleven, while Scott and Molnar have made eight apiece.
Friends holds a 6-7-5 overall record and a 6-4-3 KCAC record.
The Falcons won twice to end their season, beating Avila on the road last Thursday by a score of 5-0, and Bethany at home on Friday, 7-0.
Jose Quiel and Caique Pereira are the joint-leading goalscorers for Friends with eleven goals each. Nathaniel Stephens is the Falcons' assists leader with six.
Ottawa and Friends have met 54 times, the Falcons leading the series 32-16-4.
In the regular season matchup between the two teams in Wichita, Caique Pereira scored first for Friends in the 48th minute, but
Jevan Purcell-Jackson scored the equalizer in the 58th minute.
Ottawa is unbeaten against Friends in the
James Cottage era, with one win and two ties.
The winner of the KCAC Tournament earns an automatic spot in the NAIA National Tournament, and would join Oklahoma Wesleyan as the second KCAC representative.
