SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Ottawa University men's basketball team won its second straight game, defeating Evangel University 82-60 on Wednesday night at AGFinancial Arena.
The Braves opened the contest with a 21-11 lead over Evangel. A 3-pt field goal by
Najee Jones increased the OU lead to 14 points, 31-17, with six minutes remaining in the half.
Evangel cut the OU lead to nine points, 31-22, with 5:06 on the clock. The Braves responded by ending the half on an 18-2 run to take a 49-24 lead into the locker room.
Ottawa continued its dominate play in the second half. The OU lead only dropped below 20 points once in the final 20 minutes of play. Evangel cut the Brave lead to 57-39 with 13:40 left in the game. Five straight points by
Deondre Buggage pushed the OU lead to 23 points, 62-39.
Ottawa's defense held Evangel in check for the remainder of the game and the Braves took the 82-60 victory.
