KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The #10 Ottawa University women's wrestling competed against three teams at the Eagle Duals. Ottawa defeated Wayland Baptist, 25-21, and Avila, 41-5. The Braves fell to Indian Hills CC, 23-21.
Ottawa vs. Wayland Baptist – W, 25-21
Aynsley Fink started the dual with a fall victory over Alissa Cowing in the 110lb weight division.
Peyton Hand won an 8-5 decision over Tess Barnett in the 124lb weight division. In the 131lb,
Camryn Mather secured a fall win over Mattison Goss.
Livia Swift defeated Aspen DeHerrera on a technical fall in the 138lb weight class.
Leilani Caamal earned a 5-4 decision win against Avery Shinkle in the 145lb.
Kaylee Davis won by forfeit in the 180lb weight division.
Ottawa vs. Indian Hills CC – L, 23-21
Almarwa Alkhalil earned a 5-3 decision win in the 103lb weight division, defeating Chasey Karabell.
Aynsley Fink secured a win in the 110lb weight class on a forfeit.
Peyton Hand won a 6-0 decision match against Angelica Vicente in the 124lb weight division.
Haley Flores took down Sarah Lewis in the 160lb weight division on a fall.
Faith Spicer won by forfeit in the 207lb weight class.
Ottawa vs. Avila – W, 41-5
Aynsley Fink and
Shae Salinas won their matches by falls, Fink in the 110lb weight class and Salinas in the 117lb weight division.
Peyton Hand and
Camryn Mather won their matches by technical falls in their respective weight divisions, Hand in the 124lb and Mather in the 131lb.
Mikinlee Smith pinned Andrea Uribe in the 138lb weight division. In the 145lb weight class,
Kaydence Bonewell defeated Jaclyn Riedinger on a 4-0 decision.
Haley Flores,
Ciera Hutton-Spieker and
Faith Spicer each won by forfeit in the final matches.
