Women's Basketball Hosts Evangel in Wilson on Wednesday

Ottawa lost 73-62 to Kansas Wesleyan in Mabee Arena on Monday night in Salina. OU shot 46.6 percent from the floor, 25 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 50 percent from the free throw line. Kennedy Bankett led OU in scoring with 13 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the floor.

This season the Braves are averaging 72 points, 37.2 rebounds, and 12 assists per game. They are shooting 39.5 percent from the floor, 34 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 73 percent from the free throw line.

Kennedy Bankett leads the team in scoring, averaging 14.8 points per game. She is shooting 56.5 percent from the floor and 46.7 percent from the free throw line. Bankett also leads OU in rebounding, averaging 5.1 rebounds per game. Jayla Johnson is OU's leader in assists (1.7) and steals (1.4) per game.

The Braves are 10-4 in Wilson Field House this season. Ottawa is averaging 79.8 points per game while holding opponents to 68.6 points. OU is shooting 40.8 percent from the floor, 34.2 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 77.1 percent from the free throw line. Wednesday is the third meeting between Ottawa University and Evangel University. The Valor lead the series, 2-0. This will be the first time that the two teams have played each other in Wilson Field House. The first meeting happened on Nov. 26, 1988 in Springfield. EU won the game, 74-34. The Valor won the first meeting this season, defeating OU 72-56 on Jan. 6.

In the loss to Evangel on Jan. 6 in Springfield, Ottawa shot 34.7 percent from the floor, 54.2 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 90 percent from the free throw line. OU had two players in double figures led by Jayla Johnson's 12 points. She also led OU in assists with five and rebounds with six. Kennedy Bankett was the other Brave in double digits, finishing with 10 points. Hailey Henry had two blocks.

Evangel University has an overall record of 15-8, a KCAC mark of 13-7, is on a five game winning streak, and has a record of 7-5 on the road this season. The Valor enter Wednesday's game coming off an 85-70 win over Sterling College on Feb. 17 in Springfield.

This season, the Valor are averaging 70.4 points, 43.8 rebounds, and 14.8 assists per game. They are shooting 40.5 percent from the floor, 29.6 percent from behind the 3-pt line, and 65.1 percent from the free throw line.

Evangel is ranked 38th in the NAIA in field goals attempted per game (65.9), fourth in offensive rebounds per game (16.5), 17th in total rebounds per game (43.8), and 22nd in rebound margin per game (9.1).

Kamie Jenkins leads the Valor in scoring, averaging 12.2 points per game. She is shooting 53.6 percent from the floor. Jenkins has only attempted six threes this season. She is averaging a double-double, pulling down 10.2 rebounds per game. Jazzy Kirby is EU's leader in assists (3.0) and Lydia Babirye is the team's leader in steals (1.3) per game.

In the Valor's 12 road games this season, the are averaging 68.8 points per game and shooting 39 percent from the floor and 29.3 percent from behind the 3-pt line.

In Evangel's 15 wins, they are scoring 74.9 points per game and shooting 42.9 percent from the floor. In their eight losses, the are averaging 62 points per game and shooting 35.9 percent from the floor.
