Georgetown, Ky.- The Ottawa women's lacrosse team got back in the win column as they defeated (RV) Georgetown 18-17 on Saturday afternoon.
Georgetown got off to a big lead early with a 7-3 first period, but Ottawa cut into it with a 6-4 second period. Ottawa used a 5-2 third period to take the lead, and 4-4 fourth period secured the Braves victory.
Mackenzie Simmons scored 11 goals for Ottawa.
Paulina Pompa and Felecia dixon scored two goals each.
KaiAnna Senne,
Curstin Brown, and
Ashley Santillan scored one goal each.
Paulina Pompa made three assists, Santillan made two. Simmons, Senne, and
Isabella Pagliei made one assist each.
Shelby Bearden made 13 saves.
Ottawa (3-6, 0-1 KCAC) returns to the field on Monday, April 1 as they travel to (1) University of the Cumberlands (Ky.). That game will begin at 3 PM CST/4 PM ET.
