GREAT BEND, Kan. – The (RV) Ottawa University softball team fell 6-2 to Friends University in its second game of the KCAC Tournament on Wednesday afternoon.
Friends scored one run in the first, three in the second, and one in the top of the third to take a 5-0 lead over the Braves. Ottawa cut into the Falcon lead with a run in the bottom of the third.
Megan Kennedy reached first on a bunt single and them moved to second with a ground out to short stop by
Rachel Pederson.
Macy Roever scored Kennedy with a double down the right field line and OU trailed 5-1.
Ottawa pushed another run across home plate in the bottom of the fourth.
Reagan Hammons singled to right and
Nayely Delgado walked, giving OU runners on first and second.
Morgan Bradford singled to right, scoring Hammons and the Braves were within 5-2.
Friends scored one more run in the top of the seventh, taking a 6-2 lead over the Braves. Ottawa was not able to rally, and the Falcons took the 6-2 victory.
