OTTAWA, Kan. – Ottawa University Director of Athletics Janet Eaton-Smith announced today that Jeff Frank had been named interim head coach of the OU men's and women's powerlifting teams for the 2024-25 season.
"We're excited about the future of the powerlifting program with Coach Frank at the helm," said Eaton-Smith. "His knowledge and history with our program are a win-win for Brave Nation as we continue to achieve remarkable milestones this year and beyond.
Frank has spent the 2023-24 season as an assistant coach with the team and was a volunteer assistant coach in the spring of 2023. He started powerlifting in 2012 and is one of the top multiply lifters today in the world. Frank currently trains at The Foundation and has competed in all facets of powerlifting (raw, single ply, and multiply.).
"I would like first to thank the Ottawa Administration for the opportunity. I am very grateful and honored to have the opportunity to continue my journey with the Braves Family," said Frank. "Being able to continue working with the student-athletes, mentoring and helping them navigate challenges of daily life in and outside of both sport and classroom. A saying we have adopted, and say before every practice, perfectly depicts the culture Ottawa athletics has built - "today's a great day to have a great day!"
He has been the owner/operator of Shuttersport Productions since 2018.
Before starting Shuttersport Productions, Frank worked for Millard from March 2012 to April 2016 and was an assistant coach at Tonganoxie High School in Tonganoxie, Kan. from May 2010 to July 2012.
Frank graduated from Garden City Community College in December 2008 and from McPherson College in December 2010.
