Ottawa, Kan. - The Ottawa women's soccer team dropped their season opener to Baker by a score of 1-0 on Friday evening at AventHealth Field. 

Baker struck first with an 11th minute goal by Emma Schieber, which would prove to be the only goal of the match.

Baker shot 18 times with 10 being on goal, and Ottawa took 14 shots with eight on goal. Goalkeeper Alondra Carbajal-Pettry made nine saves for the Braves.

Ottawa (0-1-0, 0-0-0 KCAC) takes the field next on Monday, September 9 as they host the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma at AdventHealth Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
