MALTA - The Ottawa University men's and women's powerlifting team competed at the IPF Worlds Equipped Powerlifting Championships. Freshman Chealsea Enemor was named a World Champion.
Enemor earned a 2024 World Championship. She placed second in the squat (227.5 kg/501.5 pounds), earned a finish of first in bench (125 kg/275.5 pounds), and was first in the dead lift. Her deadlift mark of 238.5 kg/525.8 pounds is a new world record.
Nicolas Calidonia, a sophomore, earned second overall. He placed first in bench (145 kg/319.6 pounds) and third in deadlift (207.5 kg/457.5 pounds).
Junior LIam Zuffoletti finished eighth in the 74 kg weight class. He placed third in the deadlift (252 kg/556.6 pounds)
Lola Cheramie, a sophomore, earned a finish of second in squat (175 kg/385.8 pounds) and first in deadlift (175 kg/385.5 pounds).
Celine Orozco placed second at the event. The sophomore was second in squat (232.5 kg/512.6 pounds) and third in deadlift (190 kg/418.9 pounds)

Mena Reeves finished fifth overall. She placed third in deadlift (182.5 kg/402.3 pounds)
Abigail Lee earned an overall finish of second. She placed first in squat (270 kg/595.2 pounds).

Freshman Dwayne Coleman finished second overall in the event. He placed first in squat (395 kg/870.8 pounds), third in bench (227.5 kg/501.5 pounds), and third in deadlift (302.5 kg/666.9 pounds).
Ashton Fischer, a freshman, had an overall finish of second. He placed second in squat (285 kg/628 pounds and first in brench (200 kg/440.9 pounds).
