(RV) Women's Volleyball Hosts William Woods and (RV) Benedictine on Saturday

The Braves defeated no. 19 Central Methodist University in their home opener on Thursday evening 3-2 (17-25, 28-26, 21-25, 25-17, 15-11). Ottawa finished the match with 57 kills, a .182 attacking percentage, 51 assists, one service ace, 99 digs, and nine team blocks.

Through eight matches, Ottawa is averaging 13.2 kills per st, 12.5 assists per set, 1.7 blocks per set, 0.6 service aces per set, and 20.07 digs per set. OU has a .215 attacking percentage.

OU is ranked 23rd in the NAIA in kills per set (13.2), 35th in attacking percentage (.215), 17th in assists per set (12.5), fifth in digs per set (20.07), 54th in solo blocks (22), and 50th in blocking errors (16).

OU is led in kills per set (3.6) by Radaisy Valdez, Madison Brauner is OU's leader in assists per set (6.6), Kenzie Kuxhaus leads the Braves in digs per set (6.1), and Valdez is the team's leader in blocks per set (0.7).

Saturday's match between Ottawa and William Woods University is the ninth meeting between the two teams. The Braves lead the series 6-2 and are on a six match winning streak over the Owls. Ottawa has not lost to William Woods since Sept. 8, 2012. WWU won the match 3-2 (25-23, 15-25, 25-23, 21-25, 11-15). The first match between OU and WWU was on Sept. 14, 1991. The Owls won the contest 2-0 (16-14, 15-10).

Ottawa and Benedictine College will be meeting for the 60th time on Saturday afternoon. The Ravens lead the series 43-16 but the Braves are on a five match winning streak against BC. OU has won seven out of the last six matches between the two teams. Ottawa's last loss to Benedictine was on Aug. 25, 2014 in Wilson Field House. BC won the match 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 20-25, 20-25). The last time the two teams met was on Oct. 18, 2022 in Wilson Field House. OU won the match 3-0 (25-8, 25-22, 25-18). Ottawa and Benedictine met for the first time on Oct. 21, 1975 in Wilson Field House. The Ravens won the match 2-1 (13-15, 15-12, 4-15).

William Woods University has an overall record of 6-6 and is on a two match winning streak. The Owls last two wins are 3-1 victories over Friends University and College of Saint Mary on Sept. 7.

Through 12 matches this season, WWU is averaging 11.7 kills per set, 10.6 assists per set, 2.3 blocks per set, 1.4 service aces per set (1.4), and digs per set (14.8). The Owls have a .190 attacking percentage.

The Owls are ranked 20th in the NAIA in block assists (171), 29th in total blocks (102), 14th in blocks per set (2.3), and 18th in blocking errors.

Vitoria Campos Mellos leads William Woods in kills per set (2.3). Erin Treis is WWU's leader in assists per set (4.8) and digs per set (2.7). Pamela Durazo is the Owls' leader in blocks per set (1.1).

Benedictine College has an overall record of 7-3 and enters Saturday's match coming off a 3-1 victory over Kansas Wesleyan University on Sept. 11.

Through 10 matches this season, Benedictine is averaging 12.7 kills per set, 11.8 assists per set, 1.4 blocks per set, 2.1 service aces per set, and 15.9 digs per set. The Ravens have a .204 attacking percentage.

Benedictine is ranked 48th in the NAIA in kills per set (12.7), 47th in attacking percentage (.204), 49th in assists per set (11.8), 47th in service aces per set (2.1), 31st in ball handling errors (4), and 46th in points per set (16.3).

Hokulani Sagapolu leads Benedictine in kills per set (2.7), Haley Cahill is BC's leader in assists per set (5.8), Evelyn Arreola is the team's leader in digs per set (4.6), and Winny Harris leads the Ravens' in blocks per set (0.7).
