Women's Soccer Falls in KCAC Opener

Box Score Leavenworth, KAN. - The Ottawa women's soccer team dropped to 0-1 in conference play as they were defeated by the University of Saint Mary by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday evening.

The only scoring play came in the 42nd minute, when Josie Hallier scored via a penalty kick for the Spires.

Saint Mary led 13 to 11 in shots, however Ottawa took more shots on goal, 8 to 7. Alondra Carbajal-Pettry made five saves in goal for the Braves.

Ottawa (0-5-0, 0-1-0 KCAC) returns to the field on Saturday, August 21, as they travel to York, Nebraska for an away game at York University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
