Ottawa, KAN. - The Ottawa men's soccer team's unbeaten streak was snapped as they were defeated by (6) Oklahoma Wesleyan by a score of 2-1 at AdventHealth Field on Wednesday evening.
The game started with many chances but none that found the back of the net, Kirill Pakhomov struck first for the visitors. Ottawa answered in the 74th minute with
Slobodan Novicevic's first goal of the season, assisted by
Alonso Basauri. Pol Mur took the Eagles to victory with a goal in the 86th minute.
Oklahoma Wesleyan led Ottawa in shots 12 to two, and took seven shots on goal to the Braves' one.
Nicolo Cinelli made five saves in goal for Ottawa.
Ottawa (2-5-1, 1-1-1 KCAC) returns to the field on Saturday, September 28 as they travel to Salina, Kansas for a match at Kansas Wesleyan University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 PM.
