(RV) Women's Volleyball Travels to (14) Park on Saturday

Ottawa finished the San Antonio ShinDig last weekend with a record of 2-1. The Braves fell to host Our Lady of the Lake University 3-0 but rebounded to take a 3-1 victory over (RV) Rocky Mountain College and a 3-0 win over John Brown University.

In OU's three matches last week, the Braves had 142 kills, a .214 attacking percentage, 135 assists, eight service aces, 237 digs and 17 team blocks.

OU senior middle blocker, Radaisy Valdez is two kills away from 1,000 kills in an OU uniform. For her career, which includes two seasons at Lindsey Wilson College, Valdez has 1,515 kills.

Through six matches this season, Ottawa is averaging 13.9 kills per set, 13.1 assists per set, 1.6 blocks per set, 0.7 service aces per set, and 19.7 digs per set. The Braves have a .231 attacking percentage.

OU is ranked ninth in the NAIA in kills per set (13.9), 24th in attacking percentage (.231), fifth in assists per set (13.1), sixth in digs per set (19.7), 49th in solo blocks (17), 34th in blocking errors (14), and 48th in points per set (16.3).

Kenzie Kuxhaus is ranked fifth in the NAIA in digs per set (6.3).

Radaisy Valdez is ranked 20th in the NAIA in kills per set (3.9) and 27th in points per set (4.3).

Saturday is the 25th match between Ottawa University and Park University. Park leads the series 18-6 and is on a 15 match winning streak against the Braves. OU's last win over Park was on Sept. 14, 2002. The Braves won the match 3-1 (30-11, 25-30, 32-30, 30-21). Ottawa has lost seven straight in Parkville to the Pirates. Ottawa's last win against Park in Parkville was on Sept. 18, 1990. OU took a 2-0 (15-8, 15-5) victory. The Braves are 2-7 all-time against the Pirates in Parkville.

Radaisy Valdez leads the Braves in kills per set (3.9) and Campbell Stark is OU's leader in blocks per set (0.6). Madison Brauner is OU"s leader in assists per set (7.1) and Kenzie Kuxhaus leads the team in digs per set (6.3).

Ottawa is receiving votes and Park is ranked no. 14 in the NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches Top 25 Poll.

Park University is 4-2 to open the 2024 season and the Pirates are on a two match winning streak. After losing two straight, Cornerstone (3-1) and St. Thomas (3-1), Park has defeated Moblie (3-0) and Florida Memorial (3-0). The Pirates play University of Saint Mary and Missouri Baptist to open in the Pirate Invitational on Friday.

Through six matches, Park is averaging 13.9 kills per set, 12.9 assists per set, 1.5 blocks per set, 1.9 service aces per set, and 15.7 digs per set. The Pirates have a .222 attacking percentage.

Park is ranked ninth in the NAIA in kills per set (13.9), ninth in assists per set (12.9), 47th in blocking errors (12), 50th in ball handling errors (2), and 15th in points per set (17.4).

Grecia Ung is Park's leader in kills per set (5.1), Angelina Rodriguez leads the team in assists per set (6.5), Ung leads the Pirates in digs per set (2.6), and Avery Caskey leads Park in blocks per set (0.6).
