OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's basketball team defeated Avila University 77-57 on Monday evening in Wilson Field House.
The Braves trailed Avila 22-20 with 6:53 left in the first half. Ottawa scored the next eight points, taking a 28-23 lead on a basket by
Trey Twa. Avila answered by ending the half outscoring the Braves 7-4 and OU took a 34-30 lead into the locker room.
Ottawa opened the second half on a 20-6 run, taking a 54-36 lead on a
Deondre Buggage jumper. The OU defense did not allow Avila to rally, and the Braves took the 77-57 victory.
